Joe Avati is a second-generation Australian-born actor, producer, and the world's number one selling bilingual comedian.
With his comedy career spanning 25 years, Joe launched his career by releasing a tape entitled Livin' la Dole-Cheque Vita in late 1999. He later released the album Live and Unpluggato which went on to become the number one selling comedy album in Canada for 18 months
These days Joe spends about 9 months of the year touring the globe both as a performer and as a producer. He has been named one of the planet’s hottest comics by the Globe and Mail and also received praise from the Daily Telegraph and The Age, and is a firm fixture on the Australian comedy circuit.
His ingenious comedy productions have found success with IL DAGO, which won him the "Most Outstanding Club Performers of the Year" and "Best Comedy Act of 2007" at the 10th Annual Australian Club Entertainment Awards
IL DAGO II, Comicus Erectus and The Good The Bad and The Ethnic (which he also starred in) also received rave reviews.
In 2018 Joe held the title for the fastest-selling comedy show in Canada, selling 6400 tickets in 2 hours.
Joe produced the series Star Foodies with Christina-Laia and was co-host of Food Investigators whereby he jovially talked about the science of food. Food Investigators went on to be sold into 42 countries around the world.
Joe was also involved in the production of Big Mamma’s Boy and the Australian music game show series Spicks and Specks.
